How to Make Your Own Ground Flax Seeds
Why Grind Your Own Flax Seeds?
– Most industrially ground flax seed are done in machines that produce a large amount of heat, the added heat destroys some of the valuable nutrients contained in flax seeds.
– Grinding your own enables you to control their temperature making it less likely they will become oxidized!
* Don’t forget to store in the refrigerator to ensure optimal freshness! There’s no sense in consuming rancid flax seeds!
How Long Does Flax Seed Stay Fresh For?
A batch of home ground flax seed is good for about a week, just image how rancid and oxidized most of the store bought ground flax seed is! I much prefer to spend an extra 5 minutes grinding up my own for the week.
